WHY PRACTICE WITH OTHERS
Build skills and connection together.
Working alongside others adds something different to care: opportunities to learn from one another, navigate real interactions, and connect over shared goals and challenges.
Feel understood
Spend time with others who know what it can be like when speaking and participating are difficult.
Learn from one another
See how others approach an interaction, share ideas, and discover different ways to respond.
Build confidence with peers
Take steps toward communicating with people beyond familiar adults, caregivers, or a clinician.
Make room for connection
Explore shared interests and get to know others through experiences that go beyond speaking goals.
WHAT HAPPENS IN SESSIONS
Learn social skills. Put them into practice together.
Sessions combine direct teaching with gradual exposure. Through conversations, games, or shared activities, participants learn ways to connect and practice with others, guided by a clinician.
01
Learn and prepare
The clinician explains and models a social skill, such as joining a conversation, taking turns, or responding to social cues. Participants rehearse a manageable next step.
02
Practice with others
Shared activities create opportunities to use the skill, with guidance and feedback tailored to each person’s goals and comfort.
03
Reflect, adjust, and try again
Review what worked, adjust the challenge, and repeat the skill—building toward using it in everyday life.
YOUR BRAVERLY CARE
